Fullhouse Too

Hey all, forgot to post this up the other day.

I ate at Fullhouse again but this time I ate with my sis Lena. There was this set meal deal for lunch that we took (which was waaaaayyyy cheaper than what Kenny and I ordered) which was worth well below rm20 for appetizer (soup du jour), main course (any choice of the selection they provide. I took salmon caesar salad - which was not worth it at all! - and Lena took the teriyaki burger - which was soooooooo worth it!), ice lemon tea and for dessert they gave us petitfour (orange cake and mocha cake).

Holy snap! Was it worth it you ask? Well let me break it down for you:

• soup du jour
- they didn't tell us what it was but Lena guessed it was some potato soup with 3 croutons added for texture or else I wouldve been too bland. But it was a nice soup, aftertaste was a bit sandy/powder-like texture, though.
- I'd give it a 4/5 because it's not too heavy for a starter and the thickness of the soup was just right.

• salmon Caesar salad
- salmon was empty. They couldve seasoned better because one thing I don't like about salmon is that it has this pungent smell and taste that can overwhelm the dish. Caesar dressing was at it's minimum, although for salads it's always nice to let the natural flavors of the romaine leaves, minced garlic cloves and grated Parmesan cheese to work it's wonders. However, like I said before, given at it's minimum and I didn't really taste any flavor save for the raw salmon.
- it was an ok dish. Would've been 3/5 but because some of the leaves had brown-ish color to it... I'd give it a 2/5.

• teriyaki burger
- this was actually a nice dish, in my opinion. You could really taste the soy sauce, garlic and pepper (and probably ginger too, if I'm not mistaken) working it's magic there. It had a hint of sweetness to it too which I didn't mind at all.
- french fries and salad were given as side-dishes which was worth the money.
- I'd say it was 5/5 not only because it was fairly good but bcause the portion was absolutely generous also. :)

• petitfour ~ orange cake
- I like this one better than the other. It was tangy and sweet and the flavor wasn't too heavy on the tongue.
- I'd give it a 3/5 though, because it was too dry and the icing didn't taste that good.

• petitfour ~ espresso cake
- I did not like this one bit. The espresso was too strong for me that it shot right through my brain. I had only a bite of it and I couldn't eat anymore. Although Lena prefers it more than the orange cake.
- but since it's my blog, I give it 1/5. Also because it was too dry and the icing tasted weird.

Alrighty, there you have it, my opinion. I stress it to you, it's my opinion and you need not actually agree. Everyone's got different taste buds. My advise is you should really check it out because it does have a wide range of varieties albeit a west-meets-east kind of feel to it.

Take care peeps!

Amazed by Techno Gadgets. How non-Tech-Savvy of Me!

I am skyping with my bro (Ritz) and big sis (Jannah) right now on my iPod touch. Its so cool, even though we are miles apart but technology brings us closer together.

Just too bad that Lena and Anwar couldn't come online and conference chat with us.

Love my siblings to bits! :)

Fullhouse

Hey all,

Yesterday night after class, I ate dinner with Kenny at this place called Fullhouse. It didn't really have most of the foods that I normally eat... But I just thought I should really jump out from my shell and try something new.

Kenny seemed to know a lot of the ingredients that they put in the dishes so he explained some of them to me.

The only one that seemed appealing to me so far (holy shit, they don't have TUNA you know!) was the Pan Dory fish with lemon grass sauce.

In the picture, it didn't seem that appetizing.. And lemon grass sauce....? Never was a fan of that for a sauce.. Kenny reminded me that it's 'serai' in Malay (i'm getting a bit rusty in my mother tongue)

First, his soup arrived and then our drinks came, mine was banana milk bubble tea and his was jejue tea...? Sorry i forgot the name of the tea he ordered. There were dates inside, I'm sure my grandparents and my Mom would like it.

Then came my Dory. I waited for Kenny's smoked salmon sandwich before devouring the Dory in front of me, although he insisted for me to eat first.

When i took the first bite of the vegetables on my plate, it had a very interesting taste, (different than caesar salad of course) a nice change from western salads I normally eat. This ones got an Asian feel to it.

I couldn't figure out what was in it because the ingredients were not ones i recognized (Note to self, I have to try to eat something outside of my comfort zone now and then), so it was a toughy.

The Dory was a bit heavy on the oil but when eaten together with the mashed potatoes (I love mashed potatoes!!) and the vegetables, it was a good pairing with the lemon grass sauce!

Can't really say much but I really enjoyed the dish, it was something new to me. I'm really hoping to expand more on my food knowledge so this was good for me.

Thanks Kenny!!!! :)

Hope the pictures are clear enough for ya. Take care!
