Hey Reader,
Yesterday my Mom made an OpenHouse at my grandparents' place at SS15. It was only for friends and not family (So in case you're wondering why any of our family members weren't present. We're not snobby or anything. Our Mom said that the first few days of Hari Raya were for family and now since it's about to end, she "opened" the house for friends only.) so I hope you, family members, don't think us deliberately trying to single you out. Anyway, we also want to finish our never-ending stock of kuih raya.
We invited our schoolmates, collegemates, workmates and, of course, mate-mates. (Lol. I don't exactly know what I meant by that term.)
Alot of pictures were taken. I don't exactly know which ones to upload so if I miss out on some people, I apologize in advance. I hate uploading pictures on Facebook because it's such a tedious process, which I am so reluctant to waste my time in front of the laptop minute after minute, hour after hour, just waiting for the slow process of uploading pictures.
Dude, I have a life, okay? (But I still have time to blog. *Snickers*)
So the day started out bad. I had a dentist appointment in the morning.
NEWS UPDATE:-
My doctor told me that I might be able to get rid off my braces next month and move on to using retainers. Woohoo!~ It's an unofficial update because the doctor is still uncertain. But hey~ Sounds like beautiful music to my ears!! *Wink*
Continuing on...
In the morning I got into an small argument with my Dad over the phone about the apartment (That he "supposedly" wants to sell and that he "supposedly" wants to buy a new one in the Subang are. Specifically speaking, the one beside Carrefour. Wishful thinking, dear Daddy.) and I also had a small fight with Lena. But the one I had with Lena only lasted for a few hours or so. Thank God for that.
Later on we had to pick up the car after the dentist (The clinic was full of people that morning, I swear!) so we were running a little behind schedule. Jenna called and was upset because we weren't home yet to help out with the stuff. (I understood, Jenna. We needed all the man-power we could get. But since we were experiencing a shortage of "man"-power, we only had "woman"-power.)
Finally, we arrived at Toks' and helped out with what we could. The estimated time was 3pm til 7pm. But Raz (Jenna's collegemate.) Came just on time, if not early. He saw us all still not properly attired for such an occasion. Haha. Izzet came second.
Boy, these guys must be really hungry because we weren't expecting such early birds. (Janji "Melayu" la kononnya.)
When we saw the first two "birds", we knew we had to pick up the pace. I suppose we weren't paid enough by our "employers" to be motivated to work fast, but seeing those two guys being early we knew we'd be goners if we worked at that kinda pace.
Blah blah blah.. everything done. We went upstairs to freshen up and get ready. Thank goodness Raz and Izzet could get along so they actually accompanied one another til the end of the day. LOL. That was the funny part.
It was a good thing Abang Hazril was around. Now, he was the biggest help of all. He knows how to work his way around such predicaments. Thanks! :D
Alright, the tiring part was when everyone came around almost in one-go. *Sigh* We didn't expect to expect guests filing in one after another. BIG mistake, I'd have to say. Lena was gone to pick up her UKM friends, which meant lesser contribution of the workforce. When guests started arriving, we realized that there were too many people and that none (Well, there were some.) of them wanted to sit outside because it was sorta hot. I have to admit, I was really sweating underneath. Munirah told me that it was due to the type of cloth I was wearing. That it was thicker, or something alike.
I couldn't really manage to be a good hostess. Juggling between refilling, entertaining friends, cleaning the unused plates and stuff like that. All in all, I was a bad hostess. :(
I have very little experience in this field. And Izzet knows that. He was soooooo understanding when I apologized to him like for the billionth time for not having time to chat and spend time with him. God, I felt so guilty. Everytime I shared a couple of sentences something came up. Like my friends calling me, a phone call or even new friends arriving. I felt so guilty. But he said he understood. He knows I'm not the socializing type. How precised, he was. This little negative trait, I promise to change in the near future. He said he would help me by introducing more people to me. (Hope it will work out for me. *Crossing fingers* Yep, I'm a total dork.)
All in all, I was really thankful for those who came. I wanted to cherish the moments by pictures. Which leads me to another story...
When it was time for my collegemates (Farah, Nia, Tasya, EJ and Debra) to leave I wanted to take pictures with them. And I also wanted a group photo with them all. Including Lena's friends and schoolmates. When we (Me and my collegemates.) were about to take the first shot... Puteri had entered into the picture. I swear to God that I didn't mind her being in there. So I, without thinking, blurted out "Hey Puteri, I just want it to be with my Brickfields friends first if you don't mind?" I swear it was like THE DUMBEST thing to say to her, especially since she's been my friend since primary school. And for me to actually exclude her when she's already there was the dumbest and stupidest and shittiest and fudging-est(Not a real word.) and all other bad words I could think of (Which I can't think of at the moment.) thing to do to her. OMG! I still feel the sting for doing that to her. I can't stop feeling like crap. I can't believe I said that in front everyone present there. Bodoh gila awak ni, Sarah. Bagi je la Puteri masuk gambar. (That was what was running through my mind as soon as I vomited those words out. You're an ass, Sarah.)
I'M SO SORRY, PUTERI!!!
Hmmmph.. and that subsequent joke made by Lena didn't help the situation either. <:( Made me feel more like a joke.
Next topic!!! Next topic!! I can't deal with this right now. But rest assured... the intonation of my voice was clear-cut NOT in a mean way. I said it in a nice way. (That was the bottomline reasoning I keep telling myself because of that incident.) I don't even know if she cared about what I said, but I know I do still care.
It was a long day.. the few guests were Adam and Hanif. It was really nice of Adam to come all the way from work for the OpenHouse, even though he was the last few guests left. Such a nice guy. I'm glad I didn't lose him as a friend because of my stupidty previously.
Gosh, fikir balik... I'm such a jerk. Not a nice person AT ALL.
I'm glad he doesn't mind taking me back as a friend again.
Hanif was the last guest to leave. The V.I.P... LOL.
So, there you go a summary of what happened yesterday. I know it's not enough but hey, I'm tired of typing. I'm still waiting for Facebook to upload my pictures!! There are still a lot to go! Grrr...
I just want to apologize to those whom I didn't get the chance to sit down and chat with. Mainly my collegemates, schoolmates and especially Izzet. I should be a hostess more often so that I could gain more experience. Yeah, I think I should!
That night after the OpneHouse, I sprained my toe on my left foot. I don't know how that happened (But I'm guessing it's because of my cheap Bata shoes that I keep using for Starbucks. I vow to buy a new and more comfortable pair with my next paycheck.) but this isn't the first time it happened. Many, many, many times already.
Izzet has his finals next week and I've been helping him for the "law" sections that he has to learn about. It's pretty cool because some of the stuff I already knoe from Contract Law and Tort Law. Donoghue v Stevenson ring any bell for ya? Hehe. So last night after the OpneHouse he went to study at Mickey Dee's (That means McD's.) and I went there for a while with Lena just to chat with him because I didn't get the opportunity to do it at the OpenHouse. Didn't want to stay too long because Lena had to study. Him too.
Okay, I gotta go. Take care, dear Reader.
Sincerely yours,
Leanna Darwin.
XOXO
