Leaving Already?

Ohmigosh. 12 hours more in France then back to Malaysia I go.

It's right now 10 minutes to 12am of the 16th. I can't sleep. It's my last night in Paris. Darn.

We were supposed to have our last night out in Paris with Aunty Alis and Uncle Jean-Luc. But we were tired. And so were they. We were tired because of all the sight-seeings we did. And they were tired because of work.

On Saturday, was Lebaran. We celebrated at the Indonesian embassy, which is where Aunty Alis works as the assistant of the Ambassador of Indonesia. You wouldn't have guessed that the building was indeed an embassy except for the fact that in front of the building they hang the big Indonesian flag. I didn't know what to expect because it was my first time doing the Lebaran prayer. In Malaysia, I would either be helping out for the breakfast in the morning for the men when they finish their Hari Raya prayer or I would be asleep until the men finish their prayer then I would wake up and eat breakfast along with them. Hahahaha.

The Indonesian girls here in Paris are slim. Like super slim! I mean, don't you need like some fat stored in your body to generate heat for the cold weather in Paris? Apparently not then. And the guys.... don't get me started with the guys. None are cute whatsoever.

Slim girls=1 ; Cute guys=0 (What the heck?)

After the prayer, they had prepared some light snacks. Coffee, tea, coke or some other carbonated-based drink (In the morning???) and plain ol' H20. Was the food good, you ask? I don't know. I didn't even get the chance to taste the food. Not even a small bite for breakfast. (Thank goodness I had that one bite of Nutella toast and a small sip of tea for breakfast before leaving for prayers. Uh hello? Was that enough? I don't think so...) Turns out, they didn't prepare enough food!! I think it's dumb that you couldn't have forseen the number of people who would attend this joint. Stupid. Just plain stupid.

Seeing the number of people there, our hopes of enjoying a nice lunch at the Ambassador's open house were crushed. I mean, if this is how much they expected the people who pray to come, what of the people who don't pray and just come for the food at his house? Won't be enough. So, Anwar, Ritz and I went straight home afterwards. Aunty Alis had to go to his house because she's his assistant. If she doesn't go, people would start talking. In a bad way. Manusia, manusia.

We reached home, we ate Ombai's Cleo dish along with this other dish which the name I'm unaware of. Also delicious. I supposed it was better for us to eat at home instead of the Ambassador's house. All for us. No need to share with other people. :p

We took a few hours to rest because we had taken the train and bus back home. Not as easy as in Malaysia. We had to switch trains a lot. A tiring and confusing process if you're not used to it. (In the one week period that we've been here, we finally got the hang of it. A little. Anwar and Ritz both are good at it. It's not that hard to get used to. Only a bit complexed than in Malaysia.)

Anwar and Ritz both slept in the afternoon. I suppose they were "recharging" for our plans to visit the Arc de Triomphe at the Champs Elysées. Great place to be. But not for your wallet. It burns a hole in it.(Not literally, ok?) We checked out a lot of stores. Them two bros loved the Mercedes McLaren store. It was the highlight of the day. Took pictures of the awesome sports car there. Along the streets you could see all the expensive cars on which the rich people purposely flaunts. Porshe, Bentley, Vipers.... you name it, they've got it. We spent the whole day walking around the Champs Elysées. Then we decided to take a long walk to visit the Musée du Louvre .
We passed the Concorde where there were this Eye on Malaysia look-alike ferris wheel. Nice to see. But wasn't really interested in riding it. Even the one in Malaysia I wasn't interested in riding, even though it's there for a limited time only.

When we reached the Louvre, it was already dark, and the museum had closed for the day. So we just took pictures outside of it. The view was nice. Oh right, before we went to see the museum, we went shopping near the Rue de Rivoli for some souvenirs for our dear family and friends. I would'nt say it is expensive, but you would have to survey the shops first before you buy anything. Some shops give better bargain than the others. So, put a wrinkle in your brain with that knowledge, yeah?

It was getting late, and we could see each of our faces beginning to tire out, so we headed for home. Not before taking a few more "Snap! Snap!"s here and there. When we were feeling hungry, we knew it was time to head home. Eating at home is cheaper than eating outside. Cuts cost, yeah? Yeah!

The Rugby World Cup of 2007 match for France against England was on that night. Aunty Alis and Uncle Jean-Luc are big fans. They came over to watch together. I didn't really understand the rules of the game, because rugby is still kind of new to me, so I hit the sack early after dinner. Was hungry and tired after all that walking. In Paris, we all pretty much did a lot of walking. I'm not complaining because I can't really do all that in Malaysia, so I love walking here, where the air is cold and fresh (Unless you're in the subway, it's not.) and you'll also feel free.

Wow! I've een blogging for more than 30 minutes already. Time doesn't just fly now... it jets! I'm still not feeling sleepy, though. Everyone else is asleep now. I'm up alone. Except for the people driving by outside. And the ambulance. I always hear them! They're like my morning alarm clock. Its loud enough to wake you. And they pass by almost every 3 hours or so.

I think I'm gonna go on and watch The Hills now. At least I have something to do while staying up. I love watching that show. I don't even know why. I've downloaded the latest season because in Malaysia it's slow to get the latest episodes!

Toodles!

Ugh! I can't believe I'm leaving tomorrow!!!!!!
